[TYPO3-dev] Bug in IRRE, how to dig in

Hello developers,
me and some of other Typo3 providing people i know considered a problem 
with IRRE. Before I file a bugreport I would get to know where it comes 
from and provide some information on reproducing.

In some installations (on different server) with different extensions 
etc the following problem occurs (partly):

There is a IRRE field, no child records created. Clicking on the 
"New-Link" the whole frame right of the page tree clears (just grey) and 
the page loads endless without any further process. When I create a new 
record "by hand" connecting it to the parent record, all works fine 
further records can be created.
The things I'm wondering about is:
  - it happens every time to the same fields/child tables.
  - other irre records work as expected
  - happens with "well known" extensions same es with own ones
  - i compared and modified (for testing) non working relations to be a 
100% copy in db structure and tca configuration as some working ones - 
without effect.

Since I do not know "where to start" search or if somebody of you might 
have heard of such behavoiour I just need some hints how to debug this 
and some Ideas where it may come from.

  - public extensions which showed up this behavoiour: rgnewsce, commerce
  - Typo3 versions 4.2.1 4.2.3 4.2.4
