Maybe your patchs are not introduce in the core but you have to keep in 
mind that someone else could have had the same bug and want to resolve 
it. 

Even if the bug is not on the top of the todo list of the core team 
( that must be a huge list :) ), it could still helps people with no php 
skill or even people with php skill to fix their bugs.

By experience, i have came across sevral bugs that were not fixed yet and 
use the patch attached to the bug repport to correct my probleme

so i am very thankfull too people who write those patchs, even do i 
should give more to the community than i am doing now.
