[TYPO3-dev] t3lib_db multi/several join

Maybe that I'm missing something: but is there a offical way/function in 
t3lib_db to enable a query joining several tables?

The only way I can figure out is the MySql related sql_query which will 
create problems, wenn changing the DB engine.

If not a shortterm solution could be to patch (before complete rewrite 
of t3lib_db will happen) that way that $mm_table,$foreign_table can be 
comma separated.

Please comment.
