Yes, that's exactly the problem. I understand that this 
locking-mechanism was meant to get rid of the "Page is being 
generated"-messages.
I got this warning after waiting almost 40 seconds for a page to be 
generated... on a machine that was idling! My guess is that there exist 
one unfortunate constellation in which a page can not be rendered in 
time, which then leads to this locking problem.
