I'm not sure if our users really use RCs. We have them for minor
releases and yet a few odd bugs went unnotice.

Those users who really care could use exports from the SVN. Every export
should work out-of-the-box as there are no "dangling" commits. That is
every commit fixes one bug listed in the Changelog. To make this easier
we could provide nightly snapshots.
