[TYPO3-dev] Display message to user after updating/installing an extension

Hi,

is it currently possible to display a message to the (admin-) user after
installing an extension? I digged through the EM but did not find a hook
or config option. I'd like to have some sort of warning message like the
yellow boxes we can display right after the BE login.

I ask because with the recent update of phpMyAdmin I switched to the new
mod.php scheme to load the module (see RFC in issue #5278) which
apparently causes some troubles with the left menu trying to load the
module the old way which results in a php error about not beeing able to
load t3lib_div.

People obviously do not try to simply reload the backend at first - I
got enough mails about that issue :-( - so I thought about displaying a
message/warning right after the update/installation.
