I have a corresponding "typo3" symlink pointing to the correct location
at the expected position.

Just go these 4 levels upwards from the mentioned file's location and
add a new symlink called "typo3" that points to your real TYPO3 core
directory.

It's not a beautiful solution. But it works perfectly on my notebook
when developing BE module stuff.
