AFAIK, starting from PHP 5, the & was not necessary for new. So let's
remove it.

I'd prefer the constant "LF" as this is the common acronym for linefeed
(which is unambiguous, unlike LINE_BREAK). If needed, we can have other
constants like CR and CRLF.
