[TYPO3-dev] TCA / IRRE: Does ###REC_FIELD_fieldname### work between child and parent?

Hi folks,

having a table consisting of some fields and a country select field 
(selecting from static_countries).

To each country record in our own table we want to add one or more zone 
records (another table) via IRRE.

Now the zone selector box of the child record should only show zones 
(selected from static_zones) related to the selected country in our 
parent record.

How would this work via IRRE? Is it possible at all? Eg using 
###REC_FIELD_fieldname###?
