that doesn't work, you're right. You have to write a auth service.
Look to some extensions that does this already (i think ldap)

Hello

I want to redefine a method of t3lib_userAuth and use this redefined method 
in all of its sons classess, who can I do that? XClass isnt working in it 
case.
