Actually I've installed it for vBulletin forum using the instructions here and I was astonished with its speed:

Their concept is similar, so we could use modified vBulltin configuration:
- 'thread' vBulletin table is like Typo3's 'pages' and 'pages_language_overlay' tables.
- 'post' vBulletin table is like Typo3's 'tt_content' table.
