Right, the code isn't so simple. It is trying it's best to implement a full 
text search on it's own.  I even think it's good within the limits of the 
implementation.

Read "simple" as "fit for the not really easy but comparable not so 
challenging task of indexing a small site".

Right. I want to write a search beased on the native indexes of the RDBMS, 
but I have found no time for that.
