[TYPO3-dev] Feature Request: Getting rid of TCA palettes

Hi List,
I was happy to see the demise of the advanced page tpye with the latest 
TYPO3 version and I would like to make a proposal for future versions, 
namely the removal of the TCA palettes feature. My reasoning would be:

* It complicates the definition of user rights. I have on numerous 
occasions disabled a field only to find that I have thereby also 
disabled the associated palette fields. The only way to fix this is to 
change the corresponding TCA.
* Imo It does not improve the usability of the backend. It is another 
button ("show secondary options") and another "feature" that has to be 
documented and explained [a] to backend users and [b] to developers.
* Why have a palette in the first place? If a user is supposed to be 
able to edit a field, then he/she should see that field; If not then it 
shouldn't be visible anyway.
