[TYPO3-dev] Static templates in 4.2/4.3 ?

Hey Alexey,

the reason was that we also need cool (CSS-based) replacements for the 
new release. I think we already had a patch / proposal in the core list 
but then again, there was no progress as new templates weren't there 
yet. But there are already some extensions in the TER with CSS-based 
templates, I think it's a good start to dig into them.


So, in the end I think we should have three packages:

* typo3_src (always needed, no static templates)
* dummy (w/o templates)
* starterkit (w/ new CSS templates)

so, the first task, to remove the old templates is basically done and 
will be commited to the core once the other tasks are progressing.
The next task would be to find good (and free) templates, set them all 
up as a sysext I'd propose, and then the last part would be the 
packaging but this part would need some more discussions.

This whole thing will be done for TYPO3 4.3 (at least that's what I'm 
rooting for). If you're interested in helping out, feel free to contact 
me for this task.
