[TYPO3-dev] feAuth process

Hi,

I am currently working on a feUserAuth service. 
Could anyone point out how the feUserAuth process is supposed to work?
i.e. what stages (like getUser, authUser) are existing, what are they
for and 
in what order are they processed?
