[TYPO3-dev] deactivate services: how long?

Hello there,

It seems that the deactivateService() method changes the 'available' key  
in the service array to false. I don't see any way for that info to be  
saved for future use (or non-use, rather) of that service, so for how long  
is the service disabled? Just once until it is used again, or until it is  
enabled again?
