Sorry, didn't think when writing. Plain text is fine enough.

I don't know of any either.

The main problem I see is to run all localization code in the language of 
the recipient. This will probably require you to jump through some hoops.

BTW, something else I don't like in the emails is that it says element 
"table:uid". It should a) handle pages correctly "Changed on page "..." and 
resolve table name and title.
