thanks a lot for your fast reply.

I will try that. Another workaround I found:

I backed up the existing sysext folders "install" and "install_old", 
deleted them, copied the install tool of 4.1.3 into the 4.2 sysext 
folder and performed the COMPARE (which seemed to work).

Anyway, now I still get the SQL errors in the install tool.
