Dmitry,

That is not a solution, it's a workaround at best. If someone wants
their site to be HTML 4 valid it should be possible, even if you don't
agree with their choice.

There is no need for help at this particular case :) It all ok. Make 
your content xhtml_trans if you really want to get rid of validator's 
warnings. It is much simpler than trying to get rid of slash.
