[TYPO3-dev] Typo3.org not valid anything.

Hi,

I have been looking for at way to make my website compliant with html 
4.01 transitional. A problem is that typo3 inserts/converts things in 
the <head>-element with xhtml-style endings, e.g. <meta ... /> . I have 
not been able to find how to turn that off - and now I see that 
www.typo3.org [1] has the exact same problem, leading me to wonder: Is 
it correct that Typo3 outputs xhtml-headers and that I cannot turn it off?
