Yes, have missied it already on some occasions.

But I want to have the alignment of cropped images configurable:

cropVertAlign = top|center|bottom
cropHorAlign = left|center|right

So cropping occures on both end for alignement "center" (as in your 
extension), but may occure only on one end with the other alignement 
settings.
