That's right. But shouldn't be a problem in my case: The sorting is done
by the user's last name.

If I got it right, this is only a problem, if you have multiple fields
from one table linked to the same MM table (that's what I read from the
example TCA definition in the bug report).

Shouldn't be a problem in my case as I have just one field that is
linked to an MM-table.

Thanks for your help! I will try running with the bidirectional
extension (v1.1.0 from TER) for a few tests.
