[TYPO3-dev] documentation for eID feature

i'm looking for some documentation of the eID feature.

the feature itself is quite simple to use but the initilisation of the
needed typo3 parts is quite complex. at least for me without knowing the
whole core.

so i would like to have a documentation that describes what has to be
initialized to use the different parts of typo3 as there are

- fe-users and groups
- db-connection
- tsfe
- ...

what i think about is to find a way for protecting the images in
uploads/pics and typo3temp/pics from direct acess. i hope this can be
achieved that way.
