[TYPO3-dev] TS in BNF (Backus Naur)

Hi !


I was just wondering if it would be possible to formulate TS in Backus Naur form:

I started to document as much as I know of TypoScript (Michael how do those new :=AddToList work -
I couldn't find any documentation) in the following document:

Feel free to correct if you see an obvious mistake or we can start a discussion here (if that would
not "spoil" the list) or via private mail using cc's ....


It would be nice if somebody with some C experience could come up with some mostly finished Flex/Bison
scripts so he can use the BNF to parse TS via C :)
If this is done (I don't know how to create proper Flex/Bison parser libraries for inclusion) I could include
such libraries into a PHP-C module which can get loaded into apache at startup like gdlib or mysql :)


This would enable us to reduce parsing time of TS by at least 50% I would say .... know what this means !

Of course this is no soultion for shared hosters ... as long as they don't offer especially speeded
up TYPO3 (which some professionals will surely do :)
