[TYPO3-dev] EM problems

I have a different problem with EM on a shared hosting package (1und1 
Business). I always get an

"error 500: internal server. The script could not be executed error free"

when I try to update the extension list or try searching for an 
extension in repository. First I thought it might be a problem with the 
CVS version I uploaded, but as it is still the same with RC3 this might 
be a bug?

Apache 1.3.33
php 4.4.2
memory limit = 40 MB
max execution time = 50000
safe mode = off
open basedir = off

Any ideas?
