[TYPO3-dev] TYPO3 / PHP display_errors setting

Hey Michael, all,

I can see a huge spike of questions like "I get a blank screen instead
of a page - what do I do?", and the most of these people are able to
resolve on their own, once they figure out they should look for error
messages in their website logs.

I think this is usually caused by change in default PHP configuration
introduced in RHEL4/FC3 - display_errors is now by default OFF, so the
fatal errors aren't displayed in the browser, but go directly to
either the main error log or vhost error log.

Can we maybe address this either in the INSTALL.TXT or as another test
in the installer in v.4?
