You can! Copy and paste XML. But it difficult to compare MTB or manual use
of subparts to TV. The approach are i many ways to different.

Even if you making solutions for a productions server on ver 3.8.1, you should
at same time test it and prepare it for the next generation. Especcialy when
a new version is right around the corner. Aren't you gooing to upgrade TYPO3.

Yes, but maybe not for the future of TYPO3.

Yes I know there are many people that use MTB, manual subparts or even the
TS only way. And thats one of the fantastic thing with TYPO3, the same goal
can be achived through different paths. But even with the same approach as
today for future TYPO3, a lot of thing can be obsolete. The goal for version
4.5 is usability and a redigned interface, and for 5.0 a refactored core.
Both these goals will make a lots of things obsolete give need for rewritting.

I don't want to kill MTB and other techniques. But I want TYPO3 to adapt
new technologies when they are better, even if it makes it necessarry to
ditch anything of the old stuff. Because it necessary if TYPO3 also in 3
to 5 years shall be a competive CMS. Maybe even TV has do be ditched to achive
that. And maybe we should hope for a better integration between different
approaches.

And I have to say, I like your attempt to make both backend and frontend
more userfriendly.
