[Typo3-dev] developing environment

Hello there,

I just downloaded the eclipse IDE with the php plugin to develop an  
extension.
Now since debugging is supported, how would I go about doing this? I can't  
really just run the class code, can I?

So I was wondering how other members of the community develop their  
extensions. Do you have any experience with eclipse? Any other useful tips?
