Hey David,
a nice idea that you have with the "Task Marketplace". There is for
example something similar set up in the Horde Framework:
http://www.horde.org/bounties/
In this case they post the possible sponsorships and propose new tasks.
But again, of cause this would need someone that coordinates everything,
checks task demands, needs and evaluates which tasks to advertise
officially.
But I am pretty sure, that people will take those (smaller or bigger)
tasks and fulfill them. Also without rewards of cause. For me, if I saw
a task that has to be done somewhere explicitly written down and I have
some spare time for that I would definately love to fulfill such tasks.
Maybe even a fulfiller's Top Ten / Top 100 could motivate people to do
it for respect, fame, just to help out or for whatever reasons!
Like many others here in this thread already mentioned, me too I am of
the opinion that there will be workforce as soon as tasks are figured
out and posted officially.
Kind regards,
Jochen
