Well - it seems you don't want to understand: My original, clean and
"unpatched" TYPO3 3.8.0 install is not able to reproduce any of your so
called "bugs".
I am able to use masks exactly the way they are described in "TypoScript by
Example" and I guess it is almost the same for many others.
This is what I already told you on the english list and I can prove it with
this link:

Which is using the same images and TS code as the original example.
Maybe this is the reason why nobody is interested in the patches you
offered. - If something is not broken, don't fix it!

As you already mentioned: Sometimes it makes sense to just listen to people
instead of trying to fix "bugs" that don't seem to exist.
But maybe I am wrong - so let's ask the others:

Is there anybody who can confirm the bug with this image masks example:
