[Typo3-dev] ajax for popup menus

Hey Sebastian,
What do you think about incorporating a third-party javscript library 
into TYPO3 to handle the AJAX stuff??  I've seen a couple AJAX extension 
for the backend and they all seem to do things slightly different.

Including a third-party library could give everyone a similar base to 
build on and would remove the need to perform lots of cross-browser 
testing since these libraries act as wrappers to the actual DOM 
manipulations.

One that I've used in the past for some TYPO3 and Ruby on Rails projects 
is prototype, available at http://prototype.conio.net/.  I've been 
pretty happy with it so it might be worth investigating.
