[Typo3-dev] BE user authentication from FE plugin

Hi all,

while developing the XML-RPC interface for the blog extension I came to the
following problem:

External blog tools are sending the XML-RPC calls with username and
password. How can I authenticate these params on BE users?

I have an idea already but I guess this would be a really dirty hack :-/
