Hi Markus,
How about making Typ3 (the Frontend plus the most used extensions -
thinking of indexed search, forms et al - as well as the Backend, at
least as far as it can be done) fully accessible and XHTML strict
compliant? I don't know if this fits well in your idea because it may
not appear very prestigious - you don't "produce" something "new", but
it may actually help a lot of people that are otherwise forgotten most
times.
Also with more and more governments requiring (and many companies
beginning to become sensible to) accessible websites, this may really
become a huge selling point for Typo3. Think about the good resonance in
the media that Typo3 got when 3.6 became "XHTML transitional" compliant.
Up until today no open source/freeware CMS besides Plone and Typo3
claims to be xhtml transitional compliant. Even most commerial CMSes
don't offer xhtml trans/strict compliancy plus accessibility
out-of-the-box. So here's where Typo3 could really score very well.

Looking forward to your thoughts on this,
Ro
