I know that it has been decided to not put the tt_news version from TER back
into the packages because there have been changes which break the
compatibility.

For tt_products I have been asked by Franz Holzinger (author of the new
version) but this is yet to be decided by Kasper. Fact is that there are
some little enhancements which require manual changes. A solution might be
that the version will be updated but changes which break the compatibility
are removed from that version.

TYPO3 3.8 will be the last version which ships global extensions. Only
system extensions will remain in the packaged source, all others will need
to be fetched from TER in the future. But before this will happen the
modified versions will have to be uploaded to TER first, and for doing this
your list seems very helpful...!
