[Typo3-dev] TYPo3 3.8.0, status

Hi Folks,

Tomorrow I expect to tell Michael Stucki/Ingmar that they can roll out
the RC of 3.8.0 whenever they are ready. However from my point of view
at least one thing will miss for another two weeks: Indexed Search. I'm
will have to work concentrated for a few more days before it can be
considered RC.

That brings up the question if we should either
- postpone the RC till indexed-search is ready (and probably some other
things I know various people have in the pipeline as well for 3.8.0)
- or release a beta-version to at least get the process started.

personally I don't care and will let the list and Ingmar/Stucki decide
what makes best sense. But in any case this is the schedule I could
imagine:

- RC or beta: Primo next week, including a feature freeze except certain
scheduled work (indexed_search, other things reported to come for 3.8.0)

- RC2: [Branch-point from HEAD] Two weeks from now after a period of
bug-reporting/fixing
- Final: Three weeks from now
