I even have to admit that I found it very irritating I had COMPARE and a 
database to import. some long time ago I used the install-tool and 
consequently imported database.sql used import/compare kicked some 
tables and then imported database.sql again. did this quite some times 
and was wondering why always one of the tools wanted to change things 
again. ;)

Unless you know what it does I even feel it rather irritates then helps. 
;) That's why I always teach admins to delete database.sql from the 
dummy-site-Installation after initial-import.

I have no clue to ease that though since it is nice once you understand 
what is going one.
