I think I already told Sven that I don't see a need for this, but generally,
you are right, yes.

Is there any single web project that needs the autotools? What do we gain
from this?

To me it makes much more sense to spend this time to join forces for working
on RPM and Debian packages.

PS: I admit I didn't look at Svens changes yet, will do later when I'm
