Well, actually my information was wrong! It _is_ possible, the order depends
on the order of the loaded RTE extensions in $TYPO3_CONF_VARS['extList'].

You can check out the CVS code at http://sourceforge.net/projects/typo3/
Since all changes are listed in the ChangeLog, you might simply view this
file online and search it for whatever you need...

Great! Did you see that René Fritz once started with an RTE extension that
was using FCKEditor? However this has never been finished I guess (René?)

There are more newsgroups than mailing lists because they are much easier to
set up (currently). Is this a problem for you?
