If you install the tar.gz version of typo3 this ARE symbolic links.
Don't you know that windows and zip doesn't support symlinks ?

you save a quite large amount of space by using the symlinked typo3
and it is easier to update to a new version (you just need to replace
one symlink)


PS: Please use a newsreader (Mozilla Thunderbird i.e) if you can so it won't
happen that you post you message three time (or did you do that intentional *grr* ;-))
