This is wonderful. Thanks a lot.
A couple of small suggestions follow. :-)

1) Instead of foldernames like 2005-12-20, make them 
typo3dev_2005-12-21, in the same manner as typo3xdev_2005-12-21 is already.

2) Symlinks like typo3dev_latest and typo3xdev_latest could be a nice 
feature, like i.e. the mozilla-builds have.
