[Typo3-dev] How do i use the Insert records Layout option ?

hi!

I created a simple extension with the kickstarter and use a frontend plugin 
to show records.

There is an folder where all the products are.

I use the insert records type of typo3 be to assemble sets.

If i use the layout: Normal

my debug :

function main($content,$conf) {
  debug($conf);

shows :
 userFunc  tx_catalogeesab_pi1->main
 cmd  singeView

if i switch to any other layout like layout 1 layout 2 or layout 3 i got no 
array content.

where can i change the normal vaule of the layout type.
