I misread it for a metaphor.

And for your BE script example.

I know what you mean and I have stumbled across it. But I think the 
reason it's like this is because they ARE scripts/programs and not 
libraries. Most of the code in these scripts isn't reusable anyway. The 
only benefit for further OOifying is that hacking is a bit easier.

Designwise the BE scripts are my lest concern, both regarding classes 
structure and db normalisation. But it won't hurt to have a strict one 
class per file rule - so we can get a decent class loader into TYPO3.
