I was a bit disappointed to see my link suggestion being dropped
(ADOdb date library). It is a carefully crafted library, externally
maintained and uses native PHP date functions whenever possible for
speed.

It uses integers (only adding negative numbers and using signed 64-bit
range) so it fits with current coding pratcice in TYPO3.

Any reason why this hasn't been mentioned in the final document? I
suppose so, but I'd like to know about it (to avoid potential
pitfalls).

As far as implementing this goes - if we go the ADOdb route, this
might well be included by me in the next year's first quarter... I'll
be hacking away on "whatever is related" anyway. :)

Regards,
Karsten
