[Typo3-dev] Reference-element idea.

This idea may not be thought all the way through.
Maybe it's already there???
Or it may or may not be possible to implement.
But anyway, I would like to share it. :-)

The idea is to be able to make a reference-link to an element.
The element could be an address-element or maybe a fe-user or whatever.
So you would create a reference-element in the same way you create an
ordinary element.
That way, an reference-element would act as it was that element which is
linked to.

An example:
We have a calendar extension.
It contains some fields for organizer, location, category and
targetgroups.
Usually they have their own tables.
But instead if it was designed like this:
organizers would be a feusers relation.
location would be a tt_address relation.
targetgroups would be a fegroups relation.

The great thing about this would be that you would only have to maintain
data one place.
You don't have a location both in the tt_address and in location.

The not so great thing might be that you only want 3 of 20 tt_address
records to be displayed.
That's were the reference-element comes in.
In the sys-folder for the calendar, you would here place the 3 links to
records you would like to be selectable.

Maybe also a reference-element could also link to a whole sys-folder?

Just an idea.
What do you think?
Maybe you have a even better idea?
