with no response, i allow myself to 
ask the Dev-list for a solution for the following:

Hi,

we want to connect the 'contact form'
with a smpt server, that requires authentication
(win2000).

we found the hint, to try out PHPMailer,
(phpmailer.sourceforge.net)
which works fine, when using a test.php routine.

now the question is,
how to make either PHP or TYPO3 
to use this form.
Do we have to replace the >>mail()<<  calls ?,
or is the jsut ONE switch to turn ?
Any samples ?
