[Typo3-dev] Calendar Recurrence

I've recently begun the task of creating a website in Typo3 for a local 
church and one of the challenges I've come up against is the lack of 
functionality for creating recurring events (weekly, monthly, etc).  Has 
anyone (I hope) added this feature as a private extension or something 
similar?

If not, I'll probably begin development shortly.  Any suggestions or 
pointers to other web-based calendars that implement recurrence well?
