Yes, data structures can.

Template Object cannot and will never.

TemplaVoila was mainly created for the purpose of building pages by
another principle than the "columns".
TemplaVoila has an API for general templating and a test is implemented
in "mininews". But I don't think people will find TemplaVoila easier for
this secondary purpose. But we will see. Nothing prohibits it.

Thanks Stephane.

As far as I'm concerned the efforts to describe best-practices,
completely document TYPO3 so no one is scared, etc. is a never ending
story. Therefore I have more or less capitulated combined with the
realization that I'm the most incompetent person on earth in regard to
thinking like a newbee.

So I hope someone else picks up your idea and implements it.
