Really? Typo3 still is supposed to work with the ancient 3.0.6. So I
don't expect anything like that before two years.

You're not provoking me. I didn't choose the data format for flexforms.
Personally I think it was a wrong decision to use xml, rather than th
plain old php way as used for the tca.
Well, if you'd kick out the whole php array stuff then it word make
sense. So it just looks like a gimmick to me. There's no real DTD or
schema, nothing fancy, nothing to clean up the IMHO partially crufted
TCA syntax (it introduces it's own oddities like the ROOT). It's mostly
a wrapper.
Ok, it might make more sense in the context of TV, but for your average
plugin xml for flexforms is an overkill. Ah yes, what's new are the
tabs. This is really nice and fine. Dunno if the tabs justify the switch
to xml.
Enough of this provoking of me. I guess I haven't been thinking enough
about the matter. In fact I was jus musing while writing this post ;-)
