About the issues.
First of all, please be patient. It is a JUNGLE to get these system
variables stable under all conditions!
I'm afraid that we have to release on friday with these bugs. The reason
is that if we do changes here it is very likely that we just create a
bug for someone else. To those people who might suddently out of nowhere
have a non-working installation that will be a very shocking step from
RC2 to final release!
So for those of you who have to accept the inconvenience of locally
patching the scripts with your homemade solutions, you will have to do
that also for the final release.
However, we are not opposed to fixing this for 3.6.1 of course. We just
need to make sure it is tested over enough time AND on the largest range
of systems possible. If you want my support to fix these things your
part of the deal will be to promise that you organize testing on a wide
variety of systems!.

It's not a bug, it's a missing feature.
