again, if your main authentication is external anyways i'd think all you 
need in typo is some way to get users authenticated. i just inserted 
"temporary users" with plain sql and deleted them afterwards (the user 
table has also a field to suspend users after a certain amount of time).
do you really need further editing in typo3 if the main source of your 
user data is external anyway?
